Pressure measurement
Reference - absolute - relative pressure
Absolute pressure (Pabs)
This is the pressure measured
by the pressure sensor.
If the lid is opened it is atmos-
pheric pressure.
If the lid is closed and pressure
cooking is in progress it
corresponds to the reference
pressure + pressure present in
the pan.
Reference P (Pref)
This is the atmospheric pres-
sure recorded at the start of the
pressure mode.
NB: The cover must be detected
in the up and unlocked position
Relative P (Prel)
This is the absolute pressure
less the reference pressure.
If a cooking mode is in pro-
gress this corresponds to this
pressure in the pan.
Different pressures displayed in the service mode
Absolute P =
atmospheric P.
= 1000 mbar
Absolute P
= 1150 mbar
+ 150 mbar
Reference P
= 1000 mbar
No pressure mode
in progress.
Cover open.
Pressure mode
active.
Cover closed.
Relative P
= 150 mbar
Example:
The pressure values given below are only examples!
Fig.1: The device is not yet in pressure mode, the cover is open. For example the measured baro-
metric pressure is 1000 mbar. The reference pressure will therefore also be 1000 mbar.
Fig.2: The unit is in pressure mode, the regulation pressure in the pan is 150 mbar. It thus follows
there is an absolute pressure of 1150 mbar.
