General network information
Subnet mask
This is a complement to the IP address, it is for separating the network part (network ID) from the
machine part (host ID) of an IP address by masking. The value of the subnet mask must be the same
on the VarioCooking Center® as on the computer it wants to connect to.
Gateway
A gateway is used to make a link between two networks. For example between a local network and
the internet. In this case it allows an internet connection to be shared via a router.
In some cases you will not need to set this address, for example when you connect a VarioCooking
Center ® directly to a computer. In this case leave the VarioCooking Center®'s gateway setting empty.
This information will also be given to you by the network administrator.
