4520Z Installing the Exhaust System
1. Position the muffler and gasket against the exhaust manifold aligning the
mounting holes.
2. Loosely install the mounting bolts with washers through the manifold and into the
muffler mounting flange.
3. Loosely install the washers and nuts on the mounting bolts.
4. Loosely install the mounting bolts through the muffler brace into the muffler.
5. Torque the manifold to muffler mounting bolts to 27 Nm (240 in-lb).
6. Tighten the nuts on the backside of the mounting bolts.
7. Tighten the muffler brace mounting hardware.
8. Install the manifold heat shield. Ensure that the washers are cupped, use VC-3
thread locker and torque the mounting bolts to 11 Nm (96 in-lb).
9. Install the muffler heat shield.
10. Install the right engine cover; refer to Removing and Installing the Engine Covers,
page 7–14.
11. Install the grill and hood assembly; refer to Removing and Installing the Grill,
page 7–14 Removing and Installing the Hood, page 7–13.
