Condensate and neutralisation
Oil combustion
Condensate from this type of system should be neutralised. For gas
boilers use an active carbon filter in addition to a neutralising sys-
tem.
Neutralising system
Matching neutralising systems are available for condensing units
comprising Viessmann Vitoplex/Vitorond boilers and Viessmann
Vitotrans 300 flue gas/water heat exchangers installed downstream
of the boiler:
■ Granulate neutralising facility for gas boilers up to 500 kW incl.
Vitotrans 300
■ Granulate neutralising system with lifting pump and granulate re-fill
indicator for gas boilers up to 1000 kW incl. Vitotrans 300
■ Liquid neutralising system for gas boilers from 1000 kW incl.
Vitotrans 300
■ Neutralising systems for oil boilers incl. Vitotrans 300.

Positioning the neutralising system
The condensate backs up to the level of the inlet connection to the
neutralising system in the heat source, in the flue gas heat exchanger
or in the flue system, if the entire heating system is installed at the
same level.
Position the neutralising system correspondingly lower, if the conden-
sate is to drain off completely.
Control units
11.1 Overview of boiler control units and control panels

A specific, matching boiler control unit is part of the standard delivery
of the Viessmann boilers Vitoplex 200 and 300 as well as
Vitorond 200. This ensures that the required low-end boiler water tem-
perature is maintained.
The boiler protection is assured by the following:
■ Therm-Control (only Vitoplex 200 to 560 kW, Vitoplex 300 and
Vitorond 200, type VD2A, to 270 kW and Vitoradial 300-T)
■ Controlling a shunt pump, boiler circuit pump or distribution pump
■ Flow rate reduction in the heating circuits
■ Constant return temperature control
Vitocontrol control panels with weather-compensated control unit
Vitotronic 300-K, type MW1S, for 1 to 4 boilers and 2 heating circuits
with mixers, and additional Vitotronic 200-H, type HK1S or HK3S, for
1 or up to 3 heating circuits with mixers, can be supplied for all Vitoplex
and Vitorond boilers.
