USB Storage Mapping
Click the drop-down menu to enable/disable USB storage mapping.
When Enable is selected, users can access the local USB storage devices, such
as a USB ash drive and memory card reader, in a Remote Desktop session.
NOTE: ViewSonic Client Setup also allows you to enable or disable the use of
locally attached USB storage devices. You need to enable locally attached
USB storage devices rst in order to use them in a Remote Desktop
session. The default is enabled.
NOTE: To congure the use of USB storage devices, please refer to section
“4.4.3 Conguring Settings for USB Storage Devices” on page 70.
Printer Mapping
Click the drop-down menu to enable/disable printer mapping.
When Enable is selected, users can access a local or network printer in a
Remote Desktop session.
NOTE: You need to add a local or network printer for your SC-T46 rst, and then
enable this feature here to use that printer in a Remote Desktop session.
NOTE: For detailed instructions on how to add a local or network printer for your
SC-T46, please refer to section “4.4.6 Adding a Local Printer” on page
73 or “4.4.7 Adding a Network Printer” on page 76.
Serial Port Mapping
Click the drop-down menu to enable/disable serial port mapping.
When Enable is selected, users can access a serial device, such as a barcode
scanner, in a Remote Desktop session.
Parallel Port Mapping
Click the drop-down menu to enable/disable parallel port mapping.
When Enable is selected, users can access a parallel device, such as a printer or
scanner, in a Remote Desktop session.
Smart Card Mapping
Click the drop-down menu to enable/disable smart card mapping.
When Enable is selected, users can access smart cards through a smart card
reader in a Remote Desktop session.
Local Resources Settings
Item Description
Remote Audio Playback
Click the drop-down menu to congure the audio playback setting in a Remote
Desktop session. Three options are available: Play on this computer, Play on
remote computer, and Do not play.
Option Description
Play on this computer
Allows audio playback in a Remote Desktop
session using locally attached audio devices.
Play on remote computer
Allows audio playback in a Remote Desktop
session using audio devices attached to the
remote computer.
Do not play
Disables audio playback in a Remote Desktop
session using locally attached audio devices.
