6.2 Packaging
The machine is shipped in one piece. Unless otherwise specified, the packaging corresponds to the
packaging directives issued by the German Association of Mechanical Engineering Institutes (VDMA).
Unload the packaged machine from the transport device with a fork lift truck, hoisting crane or similar
device.
Danger
When transporting by crane, only attach the wooden crate at the marked points
Remove packaging and check the contents. Any damage in transit and/or missing parts must be re-
ported immediately in writing.
Attention
Use a sturdy working platform to remove the packaging.
6.3 Transport
6.3.1 Transport using fork lift truck or rollers
If using a fork lift truck, the machine must be screwed to the base of the crate for transport. If the ma-
chine stand is equipped with fork lift pockets, it can also be placed directly on these.
The load-bearing capacity of the fork lift truck must be sufficient to take the weight of the machine.
Only lift the machine off the floor very slightly and transport with extreme caution. Avoid jerking and
strong vibrations.
If inadequate space is available, it is also possible to use so-called armoured rollers. In this case,
make sure that there are always sufficient rollers positioned under the machine and that the machine
is safeguarded against the risk of tilting and slippage. Avoid jerking and strong vibrations.
6.4 Intermediate storage
If the machine is not assembled immediately after delivery, it should be carefully stored in a protected
location. It should be properly covered to keep out dust and moisture.
The machine is supplied with a special rust protection agent which protects the components for
approx. three months under normal air humidity conditions. If the air humidity is higher, or the storage
period longer, the machine should be re-coated with a commercially available rust protection agent
which complies with the requirements.
6.5 Removing the rust protection agent
Attention
No machine operation movements must be performed before removing the rust
protection agent from the machine.
The rust protection agent is not harmful to the environment or health.
Carefully remove the rust protection agent using a soft cloth soaked in petroleum or alkaline cleaning
agent. Never use scrapers or other sharp-edged tools.
Note
In the event of prolonged contact with rust protection agents and cleaners, we rec-
ommend the use of protective gloves.
The cloth used to clean the machine must be treated as special waste.
