10. Before rst use
a) Protection foil
• RemovetheprotectionfoilfromtheLCdisplay(4).
b) Insert/replace battery
• Installthebatterybeforerst-timeuseorreplacethebatterywhenthebatterysymbol“ “appearsintheLC
display.
Removingandreplacingbatteriesdoesnotdeletedataorsettings.
• Removetheprotectivecapfromthedatalogger.
• Press and hold the button release battery compartment (6) and pull out the logger unit from the housing. The
housingtstightlyduetothesecondrubberseal(8).
• Release the button release battery compartment.
• Thebatterycompartmentisonthebackoftheloggerunit.Insertanewandsuitablebattery(see“21.Technical
data”onpage57)intothebatterycompartmentobservingcorrectpolarity(positive/+andnegative/-).
• Slide the logger unit back into the housing. Ensure that the LC display matches to the LCD window of the housing.
• Placetheprotectivecapbackontothedatalogger.
The data logger performs best at room temperature. If the item is used at extremely low temperatures,
the battery life is reduced. In such case, you can reduce power consumption of the data logger in order to
prolong the operation time as following
- disable LC Display
- disable LED alarm
- set a longer sampling rate
