9.10 Message Alert Tone
When the message alert tone is set to On, the telephone base beeps every 10 seconds to alert you to
new messages. The tone stops when all new messages have been reviewed.
To change the setting:
Press MENU when the phone is not in use.
Press

to scroll to AnsweringSys, then press SELECT.
Press

to scroll to Ans sys setup, then press SELECT.
Press

to scroll to Msg alert tone, then press SELECT.
Press

q
to choose On or Off.
Press SET to save and you hear a conrmation tone.
noteS
You cannot set the message alert tone when another handset or the telephone base is accessing
the answering system.
The message alert tone beeps only if all the conditions below are met.
>Answering system is on.
>Message alert tone setting is on.
>There are new messages.
9.10.1 Temporarily Turn Off the Message Alert Tone
If the message alert tone is turned on, the telephone base beeps every 10 seconds when there are new
messages. Pressing any telephone base key (except /PAGE) temporarily silences the message alert tone.
9.11 Recording Time
You can set the recording time limit for each incoming message.
To change the setting:
Press MENU when the phone is not in use.

to scroll to Ans sys setup, then press SELECT.

to scroll to Recording time, then press SELECT.
Press

to choose 3 minutes, 2 minutes, or 1 minute.
Press SET to save and you hear a conrmation tone.
