7 Hygienic reprocessing
8. Allow parts to dry completely at room temperature.
7.4 Disinfecting parts by wiping
Requirement • Hygienic reprocessing is prepared (see 7.2, p. 30).
• The parts have been cleaned manually and look clean (see 7.3,
p. 31).
1. Refer to the cleaning and disinfection plan for details of
approved parts, approved agents, and the dose (see 7.7,
p. 35).
2. Disinfect parts by wiping. Please note:
• All surfaces must be wetted with disinfectant solution.
• Uneven surfaces and grooves (e.g., hook and loop
fasteners, zippers, buckles) must be wetted sufficiently with
disinfectant.
• The exposure time specified by the manufacturer of the
disinfectant must be observed.
3. For cables: Wrap disposable cloth around cable and pull the
cable through the disposable cloth.
4. Wipe down parts with a damp cloth to remove residues of the
disinfectant.
5. Allow parts to dry completely at room temperature.
