YoucanusenotonlyvideoimagesontheXOdevice,butalsoaudio–bothinandout.
12.1 Audio IN
AudioinputisavailablefromtheIPcameras.TheiFTSeriesdoesnotsupportanalogueaudioin.
Forcameraswithanaudioinput,youcanchoosetorecordaudio,andlistentoaudiointheliveview.Foran
overviewofIPcamerasthatsupportaudioin,seetheSupported IP Camera List(26742).

l Iftheconnectionbandwidthislow,itisrecommendedtodisableliveaudiostreaming.
l AudioINisunbalancedaudio.
l Changingtheaudiosettingsrequiresasystemrestart.
IntheXOclient,youhavetoenabletheaudioinputsforrecordingandlisteningintheliveview.Formore
information,seetheXO Client Software User Manual(21796).
12.2 Audio OUT (Talkback)
12.2.1 Options
TalkbacktothesiteworksviatheLive Video windowintheXOclientsoftware.Youselectacamera,andthen
usethemicrophone(typicallyconnectedtotheclientPC)totalktothesiteviathespeakerthatisassociatedwith
thatcamera.
Ifyouneedonly one speaker onyoursite,youhavethefollowingoptions:
l Connectanamplifiedloudspeakertotheaudiooutplugofthemotherboard(=green3.5mmjack).
l ConnectanamplifiedloudspeakertotheaudiooutputontheMIOcard(withbuilt-inMIOcardonly,not
availableonanexternalXOI/OInterfaceUSBmodule).
Inthiscase,allcamerasareautomaticallyassociatedwiththatonespeaker.
Ifyouneedmore than one speaker (audiozoning)onyoursite,youhavethefollowingoptions:
l UseVM22A audiounits(withbuilt-inMIOcardonly)toconnectupto20loudspeakers.Installoneortwo
VM22Aunitsconnectedincascade:
o
Unit0iscontrolledbytheMIOcard,anddrivesloudspeakers1to10.
o
Unit1connectstounit0viatheloopconnectorontheVM22A,anddrivesloudspeakers11to20.
