Integrated solid state short circuit protection does not provide branch circuit protection.
Branch circuit protection must be provided in accordance with the National Electrical Code and any
additional local codes, or the equivalent.
8.2.4 Short Circuit Current Rating (SCCR)
The short circuit current rating (SCCR) is dependent on the device type and article number (see also
name plate and type key chapter).
