o Open shut-off valve
IMPORTANT
After refilling, make sure to open the shut-off valve. Otherwise, severe damage to hydraulic
system/pump can occur due to dry running. After oil change, vent the hydraulic system. To do that,
spread and retract all cylinders multiple times. Check whether the oil foam has stopped forming on the
oil level indicator.
8.6 LUBRICATION
8.6.1 Central lubrication system
Optionally, the body can be equipped with a central lubrication system. The main element of
the system is a pump with a built-in grease tank. Most often it is mounted on the front frame
of the body. Depending on the type of installation, selected options and chassis model, other
mounting locations are possible, e.g. on the tailgate. The pump is started automatically by the
terminal in the driver's cabin, according to the programmed schedule.
The grease tank can be filled through the grease nipple installed in the bottom part. Standard
manual or automatic lubricators can be used, cleanliness is required during this operation.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION
The central lubrication system must be filled with grease if the filling level is near the lower mark.
The pump is equipped with a safety valve, through which grease escapes in the event of
blockage of one of the distributors. Accumulation of grease near the valve is a signal of system
malfunction and requires diagnosis.
Fig. 8.5 shows a simplified view of the central lubrication pump with distributors (the number
of distributors depends on the body configuration). The numbers assigned to individual
distributor segments are assigned to the points to where the grease goes (Fig. 8.6).
