6.3 Commissioning of 12 Pulse Configurations
CAUTION: it is absolutely essential that the applicable
accident prevention regulations be observed
by the user (in this context, please also read
the section entitled "Safety Instructions")!
6.3.1 Commissioning of a 12 pulse parallel configuration
Commissioning of a 12 pulse parallel configuration is carried out
after complete electrical installation of the system.
Before commissioning is continued further recommendations
should be taken into consideration:
- Follow the instructions given in the corresponding (separate)
documentation Installation Manual.
- Lock the mains circuit breaker when switching on the elec-
tronics power supply for the first time.
- Open the mechanical connection between the DC motor
and the driven machine.
A commissioning mode for 12 pulse parallel operation is not im-
plemented. The armature autotuning procedure is only applicable
with 6 pulse operation.
It is advisable to proceed in three steps:
- First of all, commission each 6 pulse converter separately.
- The parameters in the as-delivered condition are for 6
pulse mode.
- The 12 pulse link V260 of the two converters is not opera-
tive in the 6 pulse mode setting.
For commissioning, please consult the relevant (separate) standard
documentation Operating Instructions DCS 600.
For function test of each converter select single mode or at least
disable the second converter by suppressing the firing pulses.
In addition to this it will be advisable to disconnect the non-active
unit from the mains. The interphase reactor (T-reactor) can remain
connected throughout the commissioning routine.
Master
Commissioning the master converter:
- Isolate the slave or suppress the firing pulses.
- Commission the master converter, in either speed or current
controlled mode depending on the application, as a 6 pulse
standard converter.
For how to proceed, please consult the relevant standard
documentation Operating Instructions DCS 600.
