Chapter 6 – Start–Up Instructions
II F2
6 - 8 DCS 600 Manual for 12 – Pulse Operation
Slave
• Commissioning the slave converter:
- Isolate the master and short cut the master DC output.
- Commission the slave converter under current control as a
6 – pulse standard converter.
For how to proceed, please consult the relevant standard
documentation Operating Instructions DCS 600.
12 – pulse serial
mode
• Commissioning the 12 – pulse operation:
- Set the parameters for 12 – pulse mode (15.16, 15.22,
47.09, …)
(see “Chapter 4 – Twelve–Pulse Serial / Sequential
Configurations with DCS 600”).
- Connect power sections of 12 – pulse master and slave to
the mains supply.
- Check the settings of the two limits for continuous current
flow, and re-optimize the current controller parameters (the
current controller self-setting function cannot be used here).
- The result of the armature autotuning (6 – pulse mode) can
be used also for the 12 – pulse configuration:
ARM_L (41.11) 12 – pulse serial = 0.5 x (41.11) 6 – pulse
ARM_R (41.12) 12 – pulse serial = 0.5 x (41.12) 6 – pulse
Note: The continuous current flow limits are different for
6 – pulse and 12 – pulse motor current!
• Remaining procedures for full operation:
- Optimize the speed controller parameters in the master.
- Set/check the parameters for the monitoring features.
- Check the fault signals and the safety shutdown functions.
- Block Local Operation CDP 312 Panel for slave (16.04).
