Chapter 3: Testing Your Blood Sugar ACCU-CHEK Customer Care Service Center 1-800-858-8072
Follow Steps 1 through 6 of “Running a Blood Sugar Test , ”
Chapter 3 , then:
1 . Take the test st rip out of the m eter.
2 . Touch the center of the square orange pad to the drop of blo od.
D o not bend the test strip.
3 . W ith in 20 secon ds, insert the test strip, with the orange pad
facing u p, until it will go no further into the m eter. D o not bend
the test strip. ( The arrowheads are al m ost no longer visible
when the test strip is inserted correctly. )
4 . An hourglass sy m bol appears on the screen, then the
test result appears.
5 . To re m ove the lancet, take off the lancet device cap and point
the lancet end away fro m yourself.
6 . S lide out the ej ector to discharge the lancet into an appropriate
container for sh arp objects.
