R ecording Your R esults
Always record your bl ood sug ar results after testing. This helps you and your healthcare professional find
pattern s in y our blood sugar results. This infor m ation hel ps you better m anage your diabetes, reducing your
chances for co m plications. R ecord your results in the self-test di ary inclu ded in your kit, the m eter’s m e m ory,
or on your co m puter.
S toring Your S upplies
Make sure yo u close the test strip container and contro l solution bottles tightly after each use. You can keep
all your testing supplies in the carrying case. S tore the carryi ng case ( and everything in it ) where it won’t b e
exposed to h eat or m oisture. Your bedroo m m ay be a good place.
Never store test strips in areas of high heat and/or moisture , such as the kitchen ,
bathroom or laundry room—heat and moisture can damage them .
Proper Testing Conditions
• The te m perature range m ust be between 50-104°F ( 10-40°C ) for accurate results. At te m peratures outside
this range, the m eter turns off or results are displayed with a ther m o m eter sy m bol and m ay not be
accu rate. N ever artificially heat or cool the m eter.
• H u m idity m ust be below 85% so that m oisture doesn’t condense on or insid e the m eter. If it does, let the
m eter return to roo m te m perature and th oroughly dry before turning it on.
