ABBREVIATIONS AND SYMBOLS
SYMBOL Description
Follow instructions for use. Important
O I OFF / ON O = OFF I = ON
AD Driving pressure or emission pressure of Jet pulse
PP Pause pressure = pressure measured inside the Jet tube, 10 ms before the
next Jet pulse is applied.
PIP Peak inspiratory pressure measured inside the airway pressure measuring
tube
SIPL Limit Adjustable limit. If pressure inside the airway pressure measuring tube ex-
ceeds this value the Jet halts pulsation until the pressure has dropped below
this limit. No alarm is triggered as this function is desirable with superimposed
Jet ventilation. This does not cause the peak pressure to increase during Jet
ventilation. However, this increases the median airway pressure.
PIP Limit Peak inspiratory pressure limit, which must be set. Jet pulsation is automati-
cally interrupted if this limit is reached and a visual as well as audible alarm is
triggered.
Caution - voltage. Unplug apparatus before opening. Only to be
opened by skilled service personnel.
