2.13 Compass Calibration
A Compass Calibration is required before your first flight. It will also occasionally
be required before flight after travelling long distances or taking off in an area
with strong interference. It is strongly recommended to calibrate the compass
regularly, even if not prompted, to ensure accurate compass readings and stable
flight.
To calibrate, start the calibration as prompted in the app, or via Settings >
Aircraft > Compass > “Start Calibration”
Procedure:
1. Hold the aircraft horizontally ~1.5m off the ground and rotate it 360° ~3
times on the spot.
2. Hold the aircraft vertically ~1.5m off the ground and rotate it 360° ~3
times on the spot.
Notes:
• Refer to the app instructions during calibration to see progress (message
disappears once complete)
• Ensure you are spinning the aircraft on the spot (centre of aircraft stays
still).
• Keep clear of any large or metal objects, perform the calibration in a wide,
clear and open area.
