1260 Infinity Binary LC - System User Guide 45
Optimization of the Agilent 1260 Infinity Binary LC
3
How to Configure the Optimum Delay Volume
Optimum Instrument Configuration for 3 and 4.6 mm i.d. Columns
Standard delay volume configuration for highest UV sensitivity and direct
method transferability
The relative column volumes for 3 mm and 4.6 mm inner diameter
columns are about two and five times larger respectively than for the
same length 2.1 mm i.d. columns, and the flow rates that are used are
also proportionally higher. Therefore, the standard delay volume of the
binary pump will not result in a significantly higher gradient delay.
