(5.0) Troubleshooting
My pad is triggering intermittently.
• Disconnect and reconnect the trigger cable, inserting it securely.
• Adjust the Head Sensitivity and Threshold settings in Kit Edit Mode > Tweaks.
I can’t hear sound when I trigger a pad.
• Make sure headphones or speakers are connected to PRIME.
• Adjust the Main and Phones volume knobs.
• Make sure a Kit Piece is assigned to a Trigger Slot. See the section Kit Edit Mode
for more details.
• Confirm that the pad is connected to the correct trigger input.
I can’t hear the click.
• Press and hold the Click button to open the click menu. Make sure the Output
Volume is turned up for the output you are monitoring the click through (Main
Out 1/2, Headphones, Assign Out 3/4, or Assign Out 5/6).
My hi-hat pedal behaves in an opposite manner.
• Connect the hi-hat pedal first, and then power on PRIME.
My pad is triggering even when no pads are hit.
• Lower the trigger input’s gain setting in Kit Edit mode > Kit Piece Volume.
• Raise the Threshold setting for the trigger input in Kit Edit mode > Tweaks.
• Place the drum kit on a carpet or drum rug to reduce vibration and prevent it
from moving.
A pad triggers when another pad is hit.
• Adjust the crosstalk settings to prevent double triggering. Refer to the Learn
XTalk section for more details.
Some sounds are louder than others.
• In Kit Edit mode, adjust each Kit Piece Volume.
• In Mixer mode, adjust the volume mixes for each output assignment.
The cymbal is not sending a choke MIDI message.
• Make sure you are triggering a dual zone cymbal and not a single zone cymbal.
• In the Settings menu > MIDI tab > Cymbal Choke, select Note to send a specified
MIDI note for a choke message. Select Aftertouch to send a polyphonic
aftertouch event for a choke message.
