Lancom 4Portable Flue Gas Analyser
User Guide
8 About the Wake and Sleep utility
The Lancom 4 is not designed to be used continuously, however the Wake
and Sleep option makes gas readings periodically and turns the analyser on
andoautomatically.Thispreventsthegassensorsfrombeingpoisonedby
prolongedexposuretouegas.
8.1 How “Wake and Sleep” Works
1) When Wake and Sleep is
enabled, the analyser will
purge for about 3 minutes to
remove remaining sample gas
from the sensors.
2) The analyser will now “sleep”
until the First wakeup time.
3) At the First wakeup time,
the analyser will automatically
begin a zero calibration.
Note: Readings are not taken
at the First wakeup time.
The analyser goes through
the zero reading and gas
settling procedures prior to
takingtherstreading.The
rstreadingwillbetaken
6 minutes after the First
wakeup time.
4) The analyser begins to
sampleuegas.
5) After the Sample Interval
the next gas reading is taken.
6) When the total number of
samples have been taken the
analyser will purge sample
gas from the gas sensors and
then “sleep” for the remainder of the Wakeup Interval.
The Wakeup Interval is the combined time for both the Sleep and
Awake times.
7) This sequence will be repeated automatically at the next Wakeup
Interval until the exit key is pressed.
