8.2 When should I use the Wake and Sleep option?
When you need to monitor gas emissions over an extended time period.
Using the Wake and Sleep option has several advantages:
Saves battery life.
Helpstopreventthecatch-potfromoverowingintotheanalyser.
Prolongs the life of the gas sensors.
Allows the analyser to be left unattended.
8.3 Setting Up Wake and Sleep
1) Check the date and time are correct in the Settings > Date and Time
screen.
2) From the Main Menu, select Wake and Sleep.
The Wake and Sleep screen is displayed.
3) Select the Settings option.
4) Use the left/right keys, select the required Wakeup Interval - the time
between each set of gas readings - in minutes
5) Enter the Number of Samples and the Sample Interval i.e. the time
between each sample (in minutes) in the same way.
6) Enter the First wakeuptime.Thisisthetimeofdaywhentherstgas
sample will be taken.
For example if you set First wakeup to 13:00:00 gas sampling will
begin at 1pm. On leaving the setup screen, a warning will appear if
the Wakeup interval is too small from the programmed samples. See
calculation below:
Note: Fixed time overhead = 2+2+3+3 mins,
So minimum wakeup interval:
= (number of samples x sample interval (min)) + 10min
7) Select the required Output to option.
File - data logs are stored in memory and can be retrieved later.
Printer - data logs are printed as they are made. Data logs are not
stored. The Log interval must be set 30 seconds or over when printing
directly.
8) If you have the optional analogue output module, you can output the
gas readings during the sample portion of the wake and sleep function.
All of the analogue outputs will read zero during the sleep phase.
