9 Output Options
9.1 Serial Communications
The serial port can be used to connect to a number of external devices,
including a PC or an analogue output module.
To set the serial port function:
1) From the Main Menu, select Settings > Serial Port.
2) Select one of the following:
• Printer
• Serial data log
• PC Host
• Analogue outputs
9.2 Printer
1) Connect the printer to the serial port
of the Lancom 4.
2) From the Main Menu, select
Readings (or press one of the
Measurement buttons).
When the Printer is connected, the
Print readings option is displayed.
3) Press enter.
The readings will be printed.
To define your location tags
1) UseatexteditorsuchasWindowsNotebooktocreatealecontaining
the location tags you need, with each tag on a separate line. Tags can
contain any alphanumeric or punctuation character.
2) ConnectaUSBcablebetweenthePCandLancom4andsavetheleto
theLancom4aslename“Datalogs\locs\locs.txt”.
 A“locs.txt”leonlyneedstobeuploadedonce,butitcanbeupdated
at any time using the procedure above.
