9.4 Analogue Outputs (Optional)
The Analogue Output module is designed to be connected to the Lancom 4
via the Serial Comms connector on the front panel (Refer to Section 1.1).
The Analogue Outputs option allows you to allocate a gas reading to each
analogue output channel. There are eight analogue output channels
available.
The choice of gas readings available is determined by the reading options
enabled in the Lancom 4.
When the analogue outputs are enabled, the outputs are updated once per
second whenever gas readings are being taken.
The 4 to 20mA output is calibrated as follows for gas readings:
4mA = Zero gas concentration;
20mA = Maximum gas concentration (as set up in instrument factory
options);
< 4mA = Negative reading.
In addition to gas concentrations, the following parameters can be displayed
by the 4 to 20mA outputs:
• NOx;
• CalculatedCO2,whereasensorisnottted;
Flue temperature;
• CombustionEciency.
Configuring the Serial Port for RS485
In order for the Analogue Output option to
work with the Lancom 4, you must make
sure that the mode of communication is set
to RS485. The communications mode is set
via dip-switches on the rear of the Lancom 4
display panel.
To access the dip-switches:
1) Remove the side panel screws.
2) Liftothesidepanel.
The dip-switches are located behind
the rear panel and can be set for either
RS232 or RS485 operation
3) To set the switches for RS485 operation,
move the dip-switches so that they
correspondtothegurebelow.
4) When you have set the switches for RS485
operation,retthesidepanelofthe
Lancom 4.
The Lancom 4 is now ready for use with the
Analogue Outputs option.
