Installing the Sample and Vent Lines
The Sample and Vent Lines can be supplied by AMETEK or the customer.
The tubing must be 1/4" 316 stainless steel tubing with appropriate 1/4"
NPT connectors. Applications that use AMETEK’s Heated Sample Probe
will return the used sample gas to the sample stream through the probe.
Alternate configurations are to disperse the used sample gas to a low pres-
sure flare header or vent pipe to atmosphere.
Refer to the analyzer Plumbing Schematic and other related drawings for
important installation information. These drawings are part of the Final
As-Built” drawings in the analyzer Documentation Package.
AMETEK recommends installing a coalescing or membrane filter
upstream of the Measuring Cell (if one is not supplied as part of the
sample system).
The Vent Line should vent to a low pressure (<0.5 PSIG) flare header.
Preparing the Optional Heated Measuring Cell for Operation
Certain AMETEK analyzers with Measuring Cell heaters come with a
Heater Bracket that is used to secure the Heater in place on the backpan
during transport. Due to heat transfer through this bracket, AMETEK rec-
ommends removing the bracket prior to operating the analyzer.
