DETAILS OF SERVICE AND REPAIR:
The Genie
®
II Mk2 device has been designed to be as user-friendly as possible. There are no parts
within the Genie
®
device that require regular maintenance. However, as with all electronic equipment
containing optical components, over a period of time surfaces can collect debris and general wear and
tear can affect performance.
We recommend initialising a service at intervals of two years latest or after 4000 Genie
®
runs.
AmplexDiagnostics GmbH offers a service procedure which consists of:
• Replace glass slides protecting the optical detection systems
• Check fans for bearing wear and replace if necessary
• Check the internal rechargeable battery and replace if necessary
• Check all instrument functions and replace parts as required
• General clean-up of instrument inside and out
• Recalibrate the temperature control system
• Recalibrate the optical system
• Perform a Factory Acceptance Test before returning to customer
• IMPORTANT! It is absolutely necessary to prevent the penetration of liquids into the
optics. Therefrom it is not allowed to pipet with inserted tubes. All pipetting steps have to be
made outside the Genie
®
Mk2 device. In case of liquid entry into the optical unit, contact
AmplexDiagnostics GmbH to schedule maintenance or repair of the Genie
®
II Mk2 device.
• IMPORTANT! Any unauthorized modification of the device as well as damages caused by
wrong handling entails the invalidity of the warranty.

In case a service or any repair is requested, please contact your local supplier or AmplexDiagnostics
GmbH (support@eazyplex.com) for support.
The Genie
®
II Mk2 device must only be serviced by AmplexDiagnostics GmbH!
Prior to shipping the device to be serviced to AmplexDiagnostics GmbH, please contact in any case
your local supplier or AmplexDiagnostics GmbH (support@eazyplex.com). Be sure to follow the
instructions on the "Decontamination Certificate for Returns” which will be supplied by
AmplexDiagnostics GmbH prior to shipping. To avoid damage during shipping, the original device box
has to be used. The device can only be shipped after an approval from AmplexDiagnostics GmbH.
In order to keep downtime to a minimum, AmplexDiagnostics GmbH will endeavour to return all
devices received for servicing within 15 working days.
