1-11 ESD Requirements
All electronic devices, components, and instruments can be damaged by electrostatic discharge. It is important
to take preventive measures to protect the instrument and its internal subassemblies from electrostatic
discharge.
An ESD safe work area and proper ESD handling procedures that conform to ANSI/ESD S20.20-1999 or
ANSI/ESD S20.20-2007 is mandatory to avoid ESD damage when handling subassemblies or components
found in Anritsu instruments.
