4.2 Replacement of Consumables
4.2.1 Replacing the Eluent Packs
Replace the eluent pack if “W-053 No Eluent A”, “W-054 No Eluent B” or “W-055 No Eluent CV” appears on the
display.
Prepare: ELUENT 90A, ELUENT 90B
or ELUENT 90CV (or ELUENT 90CV-S), and gauze
1 Access the maintenance screen.
a On the standby screen, touch , <2. Reagent replace menu> and <1. Eluent A replacement>/<2. Eluent B
replacement>/<3. Eluent CV replacement> in that order.
2 Set the reagent information on a new eluent pack.
You can skip this step and enter the reagent information code later. See “3.10. Reagent Information Settings” on page
3-41.
Be careful to avoid contact between skin, eyes or mouth and eluent. If eluent makes contact
with eyes or mouth, immediately wash with plenty of water and consult a doctor. If it makes
contact with skin, wash with plenty of water.
IMPORTANT:
Be sure to use ELUENT 90A, ELUENT 90B and ELUENT 90CV (or ELUENT 90CV-S) specified for the
HA-8190V.
Replace the pack one at a time. Eluents A, B and CV differ in composition. Attaching the wrong nozzle to
the wrong pack can cause mixing of eluents, producing inaccurate measurement results. If the wrong bottle
cap is attached, wash the nozzle and chamber, then attach the correct bottle cap to the pack (see “5.5.4. If
Eluent Packs Are Incorrectly Attached” on page 5-37).
Replace the pack to supply new eluent. Adding new eluent to the old pack can cause inaccurate
measurement results.
If eluents are stored in a refrigerator, allow them to adjust to the same environment as the instrument for at
least 1 hour before placing them on the instrument.
