4.3.9 Cleaning the Sample Rack and Port Guides
Clean the sample racks and port guides if they get dirty. Use of these parts with dirt adhered may cause insufficient
sample stirring. Moreover, dirt may transfer to barcode labels on the sample tubes, preventing the instrument from
correctly reading sample IDs.
Prepare: Gauze, cotton swabs, purified water, neutral detergent
and protective gloves
a Wipe off dirt from the surfaces that contact sample tubes using
gauze or cotton swabs moistened with purified water.
• For stubborn dirt, wipe with gauze or cotton swabs moistened
with a neutral detergent, and rinse off all detergent with purified
water.
4.3.10 Disinfection
For disinfection of the device, lightly wipe the device with a cotton swab or gauze moistened with disinfectant, then
wipe off the disinfectant with a cotton swab or gauze moistened with water, and then wipe it dry. Use 70% isopropanol
as the disinfectant. Contact your distributor if you use another disinfectant.
Prepare: 70% isopropanol, cotton swabs,
and gauze
Wear protective gloves to prevent exposure to pathogenic microbes.
Discard used cleaning tools and protective gloves in accordance with local regulations for
biohazardous waste.
