Conguring your Ethernet connecon
If your computer is equipped with a LAN card providing an Ethernet connecon, you
may have to congure your computers TCP/IP sengs. The steps that follow will
guide you through seng your computers TCP/IP sengs to work with the gateway.
Requirements
Make sure you have the following before aempng to congure your Ethernet
connecon:
Computer with Ethernet interface.
Ethernet cable (supplied).
IP address, subnet, gateway, and DNS informaon for installaons not using DHCP.
The following list shows the procedures for modifying the TCP/IP sengs on the
computer. The procedure is slightly dierent depending on the operang system that
you are using. Please ensure you are using the correct steps for the operang system
on your computer. Follow the links below for instrucons to congure your Ethernet
connecon on your operang system.

TCP/IP conguraon for Windows Vista
Follow these steps to congure the Ethernet interface on a Windows Vista operang
system.
1. Open the Vista Control Panel.
2. Double-click Network and Sharing Center to display the Network and Sharing
Center Window.
3. Click Manage network connecons. If prompted for a connecon, choose Local
Area Connecon.
The Network Connecons window displays.
4. Double-click the Local Area Connecon to open the Properes window:
Note: If Windows requests permission to connue, click Connue.
5. Double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) to congure TCP/IPv4.
Note: If your cable provider requires TCP/IP version 6, double-click Internet
Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) to congure TCP/IPv6.
The TCP/IP properes window for the version you selected displays.
6. For either TCP/IPv4 or TCP/IPv6, select Obtain an IP address automacally and
Obtain DNS server address automacally, unless instructed otherwise by your
cable provider.
7. Click OK to accept the new sengs and close the Properes window.
