Conguring your Ethernet connecon
If your computer is equipped with a LAN card providing an Ethernet connecon, you
may have to congure your computer’s TCP/IP sengs. The steps that follow will
guide you through seng your computer’s TCP/IP sengs to work with the gateway.
Requirements
Make sure you have the following before aempng to congure your Ethernet
connecon:
• Computer with Ethernet interface.
• Ethernet cable (supplied).
• IP address, subnet, gateway, and DNS informaon for installaons not using DHCP.
The following list shows the procedures for modifying the TCP/IP sengs on the
computer. The procedure is slightly dierent depending on the operang system that
you are using. Please ensure you are using the correct steps for the operang system
on your computer. Follow the links below for instrucons to congure your Ethernet
connecon on your operang system.

TCP/IP conguraon for Windows Vista
Follow these steps to congure the Ethernet interface on a Windows Vista operang
system.
1. Open the Vista Control Panel.
2. Double-click Network and Sharing Center to display the Network and Sharing
Center Window.
3. Click Manage network connecons. If prompted for a connecon, choose Local
Area Connecon.
The Network Connecons window displays.
4. Double-click the Local Area Connecon to open the Properes window:
Note: If Windows requests permission to connue, click Connue.
5. Double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) to congure TCP/IPv4.
Note: If your cable provider requires TCP/IP version 6, double-click Internet
Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) to congure TCP/IPv6.
The TCP/IP properes window for the version you selected displays.
6. For either TCP/IPv4 or TCP/IPv6, select Obtain an IP address automacally and
Obtain DNS server address automacally, unless instructed otherwise by your
cable provider.
7. Click OK to accept the new sengs and close the Properes window.
