11. Humidity for the Incubation Chamber
Filling the Humidity Slot
Water in the humidity water slot should be distilled water and supplied in the slot with approximately
50ml of the water. Humidity water, because it is stagnant, can be common source of contamination within
the incubator. So we strongly recommend that the humidity water should be replaced once in at least 3
days or more often, and the water slot should be autoclaved as often as possible.
It is also recommended to warm up the humidity water to about 37C before it is poured into the slot for
faster evaporation.
When the incubator is powered off more than 30 minutes, make sure to remove the water
from the chamber. When incubator is powered on again, make sure there is NO humidity in
the chamber. Humidity can harm CO
2
and O
2
sensor when incubator is powered off.
Open Space
Do not fill water in the open space to avoid clogging the CO
2
supply port by the water.
Do not autoclave Hand-held Chamber. It causes breakage failure.
Usage of tap water containing iron causes corrosion.
Do not top the slot up with humidity water. The humidity water should be replaced once in
every 3 days as a guideline to keep chamber clean.
