7.5 Safety valves
Location of safety valve
Safety valve on oil vessel
Operating
Operate safety valve (SV) by unscrewing the cap one or two turns and retightening it.
On Tank-mounted compressors, also operate safety valve (SV1) by unscrewing the cap one or
two turns and retightening it.
Testing
Before removing the valves, stop and depressurise the compressor. See section
Problem solving.
Valve (SV) can be tested on a separate air line. If the valve does not open at the set pressure
stamped on the valve, the valve must be replaced.
Valve (SV1) is fitted on Tank-mounted versions. The valve can be tested on a separate air line. If
the valve does not open at the set pressure stamped on the valve, the valve must be replaced.
Warning
No adjustments are allowed. Never run the compressor without safety valve.
