ASCII instruction syntax
ASCII instruction description
FMB10 Encoder
Example(s) and comments
G=bbbbccccdddd
H=bbbbccccdddd
The commands "G=" and "H=" orders the
FMB10 RDS encoder to send RDS groups
whose contents are free. The RDS
transmission can then be partially or totally
controlled (at 100%) by an external application.
"bbbb", "cccc", "dddd" represent the contents
of the bloc B, bloc C, bloc D respectively in
hexadecimal-ascii.
The bloc A has not been specified as it is the
PI code programmed with the command PI=.
The H= command ignores the 11 least
significant bits of bloc B « bbbb » entered and
substitutes them according to the internal
configuration of the parameters PTY, DI, MS,
TA, TP of the FMB10 encoder.
The G= command ignores the parameters
PTY, DI, MS, TA, TP programmed in the
encoder and broadcasts the bloc B « bbbb »
as it was sent by the command G=.
In all cases, the CRC is automatically
calculated by the RDS encoder.
▲ IMPORTANT: to take 100%
control of RDS transmission,
do not forget to work at a
communication speed higher
than 2400 baud. (see SPEED=).
Also, it is important to verify
that the application that takes
100% control of the RDS
encoder, waits for the "+"
character followed by a
carriage return, before sending
a new command G= or H=. In
all cases, the RDS encoder is
the master of synchronisation,
by transmitting the "+"
indicating that it is again ready
to receive a new RDS group.
