ASCII instruction syntax
ASCII instruction description
FMB10 Encoder
Example(s) and comments
(5) RESET
This command provokes a hardware RESET
of the RDS encoder and is equivalent to an
"off-on" cycle of the RDS encoder.
(6) RT=0
or
RT=1
RT=1 causes the transmission of Radio Text
(programmed with TEXT=). This transmission
is done using type 2 RDS groups.
RT=0 inhibits the transmission of Radio Text
When RT=1 the Radio Text is broadcast all the
"RT_RATE" groups broadcast
RT-RATE is a parameter which allows the
adjustment of the Radio Text transmission
speed.

: RT_RATE=TEXT=
▲ IMPORTANT: when the FMB10 RDS
encoder is driven as "slave" with a Radio
Text transmission (ASCII PC commands of
type G=2bbbccccdddd or H=2bbbccccdddd), it
is recommended to inhibit the radio text
coming from the encoder (RT=0).
ASCII mode : the RT parameter
can be reread with the command
RT?
RT_RATE=v
v is between 1 and 250
"RT_RATE=v" defines the number "v" of 0A
groups inserted between 2 Radio Text groups
(2A type).
This method implicitly defines an 0A and 2A
group sequence. Their relative proportion may
be therefore adjusted by RT_RATE.
If RT_RATE is low, more RDS resource will be
given to the Radio Text and the screen refresh
rate on FM Tuners will occur more rapidly.

ASCII mode : the parameter
RT_RATE may be reread with
the command RT_RATE?
SAVE
Save the RT, SPEED, EBU in permanent
memory.
