Drive release valve (option)
The switch with the text LOCK
controls a valve, which is used to
divert the oil ow between left and
right side hydraulic motors. This
affects the pulling force.
LOCK OFF: In this mode, the hydraulic oil ows in series
from motor to motor. The wheels will roll more freely and
the loader leaves less tire marks on soft surfaces.
LOCK ON: In this mode the hydraulic oil ows in parallel
between the hydraulic motors in each side, similar to a
differential lock in operation. This improves the towing
capability of the loader.
Parking brake handle
Avant 423 is equipped with a
mechanical parking brake. The
parking brake is operated with
handel under the steering wheel.
• Locking: pull the handle and
turn down into locking position
• Releasing: turn up and let the
handle go down
Parking brake locks mechanically - spring-loaded pins
go into the holes of the parking brake drum on the front
wheels. Make sure that the brake locks properly by driving
a bit forward or backward.
Risk of sudden stop - Do not engage
the parking brake when the machine
is moving unless in emergency.
Using the brake while moving may
cause the locking of wheels and
sudden stopping of the machine.
Anti slip valve (option)
The anti slip valve positively
diverts oil ow between the right
and left side hydraulic motors and
improves traction on slippery and
uneven surfaces. It is engaged by
switch in dashboard. As soon as
the switch is released, anti slip valve is released.
The function of the anti slip valve depends also on the
position of the drive release switch.
X-lock OFF: The anti slip valve equalizes the oil ow
between the left and right hydraulic motors, but some
oil will pass between the left and right side of the loader
through the open X-lock valve.
X-lock ON: The anti slip valve equalizes oil ow between
the left and right hydraulic motors - all four wheels spin
equally and provide the best possible traction.
