‘Global’ area and ‘global’ zone
‘Global’ area has its own ‘Global’ zone that is a special zone. ‘Global’ area/’global’ zone is the placeholder for systems (see page 28) and their
resources (see page 30) that apply to the entire house (recommended; although systems may be placed in areas/zones as desired.
Likewise macros that act on several zones at a time such as ‘Party mode’, ‘Welcome’ and ‘Good Night’ may all be added to the ‘Global’ zone; see
page 33.
The ‘global’ zone cannot be deleted and cannot be assigned and icon; see page 27.
Zone Settings
Name
Name of zone. In BeoLink Gateway a zone can be one or more rooms in the house or even part of a room, e.g. : living room, kitchen, bedroom.
The Name is stated as desired.
Area
Name of area. An Area can be subdivided in one or more zones. Areas are used as structural elements e.g. when handling big installations.
An area could be: house, guest house, oor levels in house, courtyard, summer house etc.
By choosing another Area from the drop down list, the marked zone will be moved to that area.
Icon
When adding a new zone:
- A ‘Zone’ can be found quickly by typing into the ‘Filter’ box.
- A ‘Zone’ can be assigned an ‘Icon’ (see illustration), which will be visible on the user interfaces together with the
name the zone is given. It is also possible to rename, remove or move a ‘Zone’ to another ‘Area’.
When a zone is chosen, the icon selected to be assigned the zone is marked with a yellow labelled background.
- A ‘Global’ zone’ can only be renamed.
Delete
The Delete button is seen when a zone is marked and activating the
Delete
button will delete the zone.
