2. Product information
1. Stream Profile
Aprofile defines a set of capabilities, targeting a specific class of applications.
3streamprofiles are supported on NGS-D320:
Stream profile Characteristics Target decoding
platform
BASE Supports a limited subset of techniques, simpler to
design, less code, less processing power.
Low power, mobile
devices
MAIN
Supports the majority of techniques, more complex to
design, more code, more memory needs & CPU load.
Standard PC
NGS-D320 decoder
HIGH Supports the complex techniques, most complex to
design, most code, highest memory & CPU load.
High-end workstation
NGS-D320 decoder
2. Levels
A level is a specified set of constraints that indicated a degree of required decoder performance for a
profile.
A level specifies:
- Maximum resolution
- Maximum frame rate
- Maximum bitrate
that a decoder must be capable to decode.
A decoder that conforms to a level must be able to decode all bitstreams encoded for that level and
all lower levels.
The NGS-D320 supports L4.0, L5.0 and L5.1
3. Res o lution & Fr ame Rate
The NGS-D320 supports the following maximum resolutions & frame rates
Maximum resolution
Frame rate Lite (1 stream) Pro (both streams)
60fps 1920x1200 1920x1200
30fps 2560x1600 2560x1600
15fps 4096x2160 4096x2160 (1 stream)
60fps N/A 2560x1600 (1 stream)
30fps N/A 4096x2160 (1 stream)
4. Bitrates
TheNGS-D320supportsfollowingbitrates:
- Minimum bitrate: 512Kb/s
- Maximum bitrate:
o
Lite: 12Mb/s
o
Pro: 24Mb/s
5. Profile naming
The profiles on the NGS-D320 are named according to following definition:
H.264 <stream profile><bitrate><max resolution><max framer
ate> (<gdr>)
All profiles are IDR profiles, except the profiles with gdr extension.
IDR stands for “Instantaneous Decoder Refresh”. The IDR profiles generate I-frames. I-frames are
sent every 30 frames.
