Operating Instructions Primary Infusions
If values are changed so that the resulting drug amount, diluent
volume, or concentration differs from the defined values, the
changed values are indicated by white triangles beside them (Figure
4-41).
8. Verify that all values are appropriate and:
that pump programming matches the label on the source
container and the physician’s order
that the loaded administration set is connected to the correct
source container and administration route for the programmed
infusion
9. Press the Confirm Primary soft key.
If the values entered result in a dose that is outside the
COLLEAGUE GUARDIAN dose limits, a Limits Warning pop-up is
displayed, showing the calculated dose and the dose limits (Figure
4-42). If this occurs, do one of the following:
Press Cancel Dose (Ø key) to cancel the dose and return to the
programming screen, then enter a dose that is within the preset
limits.
If the clinical decision is to proceed with the override of the
COLLEAGUE GUARDIAN limits, press
Accept Dose (× key)
to accept the out-of limits dose and continue with the infusion as
programmed.
