You receive 2 vehicle keys.
with topcase

If you wish you can arrange to
have the topcase fitted with a
lock that can be opened with the
same key. Consult an authorised
BMW Motorrad dealer.
Switching on operational
readiness
Turn the vehicle key to posi-
tion 1.
Side lights and all function cir-
cuits are switched on.
Pre-ride check is performed.

ABS self-diagnosis is in pro-
gress. ( 72)
TCA self-diagnosis is in pro-
gress. ( 72)
Vehicle is ready for operation.
Switching off operational
readiness
Turn the vehicle key to posi-
tion 1.
Light is switched off, side lights
remain on for a short time.
Handlebars (steering lock) are
not locked.
Vehicle key can be removed.
Lock the handlebars
Turn the handlebars all the way
to left.
Turn the key to position 1,
while moving the handlebars
slightly.
Operational readiness OFF.
Handlebars are locked.
Key can be removed.
