Riding mode
Selection
Four riding modes enable the
characteristics of the E-Scooter
to adapt to the road and traffic
conditions and the rider's style of
riding:
ROAD (standard mode)
SAIL (rolling mode)
DYNAMIC (sport mode)
ECO PRO (ecologically optim-
ised mode)
You can switch modes on the
move.
Each of these modes produces
perceptible differences in the
way the E-Scooter behaves. The
mode last selected is automatic-
ally reactivated after operational
readiness has been switched off
and then on again.
Changing riding modes affects
the following parameters, which
are shown accordingly in the
CHARGE or ePOWER panels
of the drive display:
Energy recovery by vehicle de-
celeration (artificial drag torque)
Energy consumption (accelera-
tion)
ROAD
In ROAD mode, energy recovery
by vehicle deceleration is me-
dium and the vehicle has its full
acceleration. The ROAD mode is
the default mode.
SAIL
In SAIL mode the vehicle rolls
along smoothly and without slow-
ing. There is no energy recovery
by deceleration of the vehicle.
Energy recovery when the brakes
are applied remains available.
DYNAMIC
In DYNAMIC mode, energy re-
covery by vehicle deceleration is
maximised. This, in combination
with maximised acceleration per-
formance, imparts a dynamic feel
to the ride.
ECO PRO
In ECO PRO mode, energy re-
covery by vehicle deceleration
is maximised and acceleration
is reduced. This can suffice to
optimise range by approximately
10-20 %. The ECO PRO mode
is designed for maximum range.
Brake system with
BMW Motorrad ABS
How does ABS work?
The amount of braking force that
can be transferred to the road
depends on factors that include
the coefficient of friction of the
road surface. Loose stones, ice
