Mode3-charging cable
The Mode3 charging cable has
a special plug for safe charging
at the sockets of charging sta-
tions accessible to the public.
Charging at these charging sta-
tions is with alternating current.
Charging is faster than at house-
hold sockets. Charging stations
sometimes have permanently in-
stalled Mode3 charging cables.
Charging process
Before charging
Comply with safety instruc-
tions for the grid outlet.
When charging, always comply
with the safety instructions for
the grid outlet, as otherwise high
voltage can lead to a risk of injury
or damage to property, for ex-
ample by electric shock or fire.
Standard charging cable
connected to other house-
hold sockets.
Before charging from a house-
hold socket other than your own,
be sure to check that the char-
ging current matches the elec-
trical system as otherwise there
is a risk of fire, for example by
overheating of the household
socket or overloading of the elec-
trical system.
Set the charging current to
the correct setting.
Never set the charging current of
the standard charging cable to a
setting higher than the maximum
permissible continuous charging
current of your wall socket.
You can interrupt charging
at any time and resume
later, for example if other power
supply is needed for other con-
sumers in the interim, or if you
prefer to avoid a high power draw
