nected at the same time.
If interrupted, for example
by a temporary power fail-
ure, charging resumes auto-
matically as soon as power is
restored.
Charging at extreme ambi-
ent temperatures.
Charging is slowed at extreme
ambient temperatures in order to
protect the high-voltage battery
unit.
The standard charging
cable does not work at
temperatures lower than -32 °C.
Before charging, place the char-
ging cable where ambient tem-
perature is between -32 °C and
+40 °C.
Starting charging process
Switch off operational readi-
ness ( 38).
The charging process does
not start until operational read-
iness has been switched off.
Switching on operational read-
iness while charging is in pro-
gress immediately interrupts
the charging process.
Open the flap on the left.
Remove charging-socket
cover 1.
Remove the protective cap
from the charging plug.
As applicable, connect the
standard charging cable to
the household socket or the
Mode3 charging cable to the
charging station. If you are
charging at a charging station,
follow the instructions posted
at the station.
The standard charging cable
automatically runs all the ne-
cessary check steps. Symbol 2
shows green to indicate that
the checks completed suc-
cessfully. If symbol 2 shows
red the check was not suc-
cessful and charging cannot
start or it is not permissible to
