Failure Analysis Troubleshooting
No wire when torch
triggerispressed.
No power. Investigate reasons for no power.
Torch trigger is broken. Change the torch.
Arc is unstable, and
largespatter.
Welding parameters are incorrect. Current and
volts do not match
Adjust welding parameters.
Contact tip, wire feed rolls, wire type and lining
may not be compatible.
Check and replace using the correct wear parts and wire.
Power, wire feed normal,
butno arc.
Work return lead securely connected? Check work return lead connection to the job.
Excessive oil or rust on workpiece. Remove grease or rust.
No shielding gas. Check gas hose connection and supply. Ensure gas hose connected, regulator set correctly, cylinder
valve is open, and cylinder has gas content.
