Why is the arc unstable and causing large spatter on my BOC Smootharc Multi 180 Welding System?

  An unstable arc and large spatter are often due to incorrect welding parameters, meaning the current and voltage aren't properly matched. You should adjust these parameters. Also, the contact tip, wire feed rolls, wire type, and lining may not be compatible. Inspect and replace them with the correct wear parts and wire.

  If you're not getting any shielding gas, ensure the gas hose is connected properly, the regulator is set correctly, the cylinder valve is open, and the cylinder has gas.
