Notes and information items, except for condition statements, are read aloud. The
pilot flying need not repeat these items, but should acknowledge that the items
were heard and understood.
The pilot flying is to be made aware when deferred items exist. Accomplishment
of such items may be delayed until the appropriate point during approach or
landing.
Pilots must be aware that checklists cannot be created for all conceivable
situations and are not intended to replace good judgment. In some cases, deviation
from checklists may, at the captain’s discretion, be necessary.
Following completion of each non-normal checklist, the pilot not flying states:
“_______ CHECKLIST COMPLETE.” When a non-normal checklist is complete
except for the deferred items, the pilot not flying states: “______ CHECKLIST
COMPLETE EXCEPT DEFERRED ITEMS.”
