4.11 Wiegand interface for card readers
The AMC2 provides four ports for connecting a maximum of 4 readers with Wiegand
interfaces. Each interface is connected using a 10-pin pluggable screw - refer to Connecting
diagrams, page 46 .

These interfaces are point-to-point connections, and each can support only a single reader
with a maximum cable length of 90m (300ft) for 24 AWG or 150m (500ft) for 22 AWG.
Readers are addressed according to their respective interface numbers.

Notice!
When wiring the readers, the voltage loss on the line must be taken into account. The voltage
must be maintained according to the specifications of the reader.
If this is not the case, use a cable with a larger cross-section or a separate power supply with
the reader.
