3. Product description
3.1 Designated use
When testing nozzle holder assemblies the
extractor device 0684200702 must be
used. Statutory regulations in many coun-
tries already stipulate that this must be done
(for example in Germany, Paragraph 14 of
the Workplace Regulations).
The EPS 100 (tester for test nozzle holder assemblies
and engine nozzle holder assemblies - also referred to
as nozzle testers for short) can be used with size P, R, S
and T injection nozzles and the relevant nozzle holders to
carry out the following tests:
R Opening pressure
R Spray shape
R Fit tightness
R Assembly tightness
R Chatter behavior
i ISO 8984 defines standardized regulations for nozzle
testers and test conditions for inspecting injection
nozzles. The EPS 100 satisfies these regulations and
test conditions.
3.2 Description of unit
i During the testing of injection nozzles and nozzle
holder assemblies, the damage level on the nozzle
tester is one of the factors that influences the test
result. On the EPS 100, the relevant damage level is
considered in the factory.
! Do not move the pump lever (Fig. 1, Pos. 5) until
the test oil has been topped up. Air in the system
prevents test oil being conveyed.
