RF Keyfob Operations
The control panel can be remotely operated using RF keyfobs (hand-held remote radio
transmitters).
You can use either a 2-button RFKF-TB keyfob or a 4-button HCT-4 or RFKF-FB keyfob to
operate the system.
The 2-button and 4-button keyfobs can remotely arm and disarm the system in AWAY Mode or
STAY Mode 1, and can activate remote Panic Alarms. The 4-button keyfob has the added
ability to operate the control panel’s programmable outputs to activate a garage door or
outside lights, for example.
Before a keyfob can operate the control panel, you must teach the keyfob’s radio code to the
control panel. Refer to Adding Remote Radio User Codes, page 53 and Deleting User/Radio
Codes , page 53 for more information.
When using a partitioned control panel, you must allocate the remote radio User Codes to one
or more areas. Refer to User code area assignments, page 146 for more information.
Indications from RF Keyfob Operations
When using the 2-button or 4-button keyfob to operate the system, audible or visual
indications, or both, can be provided by the horn speakers or the strobe. These indications
allow you to operate the system from outside the premises with confidence.
The installer can program audible and visual indication beeps by selecting Options 4 and 8 in
Location 492 (refer to System Options 1, page 138). You can adjust the speaker beep volume
in Location 491 (refer to Speaker Beep Volume, page 137).

Remote Radio User Code Priority Levels
You can program the keyfobs to operate any of User Codes 1 to 32. You can assign priority
levels to each keyfob, allowing the keyfob to arm the system only, or to arm and disarm the
system, for example. Refer to User Code Priority, page 89 for more information.
Before a keyfob can operate the control panel, you must teach the keyfob’s radio code to the
control panel.
