5.3.1 Attaching Arm to Headholder
Reference Arm Handling
Warning
Before mounting the Vario Reference Arm (Mayfield Headholder), make sure that the
headholder has been properly maintained, and that there are no signs of abrasion or wear.
Only use undamaged headholders with the Vario Reference Arm (Mayfield Headholder).
To maintain adequate resistance in the Vario Reference Arm (Mayfield Headholder) joints,
do not lubricate the joints.
Head Holder Handling
Warning
Consider carefully which instrumentation is attached to the headholder in addition to the
Vario Reference Arm (Mayfield Headholder). Excessive weight can damage the headholder
and endanger the patient. Check with the manufacturer of the headholder if you are unsure
of the weight limit of your headholder.
