What to do if Brooks 8200 won't run but the power switch is on?
    • D
      Debra MendezAug 9, 2025
If the Brooks Air Compressor isn't running, even though the power switch is ON, first check the service fuses, circuit breakers, and wiring related to the power source. Repair any issues you find. Also, inspect the compressor's wiring against its electrical schematic, which can be found in Figure 6-1 on page 6-9.

Why is the cooling water from my Brooks Air Compressor too hot?
    • D
      David PhelpsAug 19, 2025
If the cooling water exiting your Brooks Air Compressor is hotter than 100°F, first check that the incoming water temperature is between 50°F (10º C) and 90°F (32º C). If the incoming water temperature is correct, the issue may be internal to the compressor.

What to do if Brooks 8200 Air Compressor doesn't run when both switches are ON?
    • E
      Erik WongAug 25, 2025
If your Brooks Air Compressor won't start even with both power switches ON, here’s what you should do: 1. Test the thermal protective switch (TS1) on air-cooled compressors, or (TS1) and (TS2) on water-cooled models. If there's continuity, contact the Product Service Department. 2. Ensure the correct phase sequence at the input power cable. 3. Measure and record the current, then contact the Product Service Department.

Why does Brooks Air Compressor pump turn on and off repeatedly?
    • S
      Stephanie SmithAug 29, 2025
If the Brooks Air Compressor pump stops and restarts intermittently, check the power source voltage. It should be between 198-250V, 60 Hz or 180-220V, 50 Hz. Restore the correct voltage if necessary.

Why does my Brooks 8200 stop after a few minutes?
    • P
      Pamela NicholsNov 13, 2025
If your Brooks Air Compressor stops after running for a few minutes and won't restart, several factors could be at play. Here's what to check: 1. For water-cooled compressors, ensure cooling water is flowing properly, maintaining the correct flow rate and pressure as detailed in Figure 4-3 on page 4-7. 2. If cold cooling water was left running after shutdown, restart the compressor and let it run until it stops a few times. This allows the oil temperature to rise, enabling continuous operation for at least an hour. 3. Verify the cooling water temperature meets the requirements specified in 'Cooling Water Requirements (Water-Cooled Compressors Only)'. 4. For air-cooled compressors, ensure ample airflow. Keep a 12-inch (30 cm) clearance around the front and back, and ensure heat exchang...
